Athens Joseph Cooper, 87, Albany, passed away Saturday June 29, 2024, at Ohio Health O'Bleness Hospital, in Athens. He was born September 15, 1936, in Athens County, the son of the late Joseph L. Sr.and Lucile Jenkins Cooper. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran, and a retired bus driver forMetro Bus in Washington D.C.. He is survived by a daughter Diana Cooper (Dave Muenster), grandchildren Keri, Max,and Kelly; great-grandchildren Chayce, Liam, Brooklyn, Lily and Luca, Rick (Myumi) Heene,Stepson and his children Brad, Ryo, and Falcon; brother Gary (Diana) Cooper, Fiancée' Mary Snow, nephew Michael (Terri) Byron, Lori (Steve) Mitchell; Great-nephewsBrendon Byron and Corey (Meahgan) Byron, Great-Nieces Hillary (Joe) Lutz, Maecy andMorgan Mitchell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Jeff Cooper, sister Rita Byron,and a niece Lynann Byron.
